Munira urged Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson MP, to consider children’s wellbeing in his schools catch-up recovery plan after a year of serious disruption caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
In spite of targeted aims to help students catch up academically, Munira reminded the Minister that young people’s mental and emotional wellbeing has taken a significant knock over the course of the past year, and it must be addressed in Government plans.
