Teddington Police Station (TPS) has lain derelict since it was closed in 2021, while Park Road Surgery, just around the corner, is in desperate need of space. Munira spoke to BBC London about her campaign to sell TPS for the benefit of the community.
Park Road Surgery is working tirelessly to meet the needs of local residents, but the current building provides barely enough space, with cramped consulting rooms and steep stairwells, making it difficult to access for many vulnerable people.
Since the closure of Teddington Police Station back in 2021, Munira has been campaigning to make it easier to sell the building for community benefit, including a securing a change to the law under the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023.
