On Sunday 30 October, Munira spoke with Andrew Castle of LBC about how the high cost of childcare is letting families down and keeping women out of the workforce.
Munira told LBC that parents need government support that covers providers’ costs; earlier support when families return to work; and better parental leave and flexible working. Munira also said we need a cultural shift so that fathers take up more parental leave.
The day before, Munira attended the March of the Mummies in London – organised by campaign group Pregnant then Screwed – to demand more affordable childcare and better rights for working parents.
