Munira was involved in the successful campaign against a third runway at Heathrow which would have seen an entire village obliterated and many parts of South West London suffering even greater noise and air pollution. One of the first acts of the Coalition Government was to scrap plans for the third runway.

As a local councillor, Munira secured action for a major road safety scheme on a lethal stretch of Staines Road, through several years of campaigning, lobbying officers and cabinet members, working alongside residents and Vincent Cable MP.

Whilst on Richmond Council, Munira worked successfully with the
local Safer Neighbourhood Team to tackle anti-social behaviour on Twickenham Green and in Crane Park. Munira also campaigned against reduced opening hours for Feltham Police Station.
Munira led the campaign to save the Common Post Office by
Twickenham Green and was involved in campaigns to save post offices in Hounslow and Whitton too.

Munira has long campaigned on tackling the scandal of child poverty in the UK, especially in London, where Munira has called for the London Living Wage to be paid by all employers.

The Feltham Arenas site, formerly an athletics track (where an Olympic-winning athlete trained) and football training ground has been shamefully neglected by developers and Hounslow Council. Munira has campaigned alongside local residents and councillors for the site to be cleaned up and made safe.
