Munira and her fiancé met campaigning at the
Leicester South by-election in July 2004! They are getting married in
November
Munira works for a leading children’s charity, campaigning in Parliament on issues such as child poverty, asylum and refugee children’s rights and welfare, as well as education issues in the UK.
Munira spent three months
working in a home in India for children and women infected and affected
by HIV and AIDSShe has worked as Researcher to Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary Nick Clegg MP, as well as Campaigns Organiser for former MP Sue Doughty. Munira also spent a brief spell lobbying on gender equality issues for the Equal Opportunities Commission.
With
her proud mum – Munira was the first in her family to go to
either Oxford or Cambridge. Munira graduated from St
Catharine’s College, Cambridge with a degree in French,
German
and Linguistics In her limited spare time, Munira loves cooking and entertaining, spending time with family and friends, and enjoys a good dance!
